There’s life in the old book

One of my favourite childhood stories is that of the characters of books coming alive when no-one is looking, and unfortunately coming to some sinister and unfortunate end… awaiting the arrival of a group of gangly and gregacious school kids to rescue them. So it was a trip down memory lane and a spot of childish delight to discover this rock-sized diamond of a video on AdWeek.

The video celebrates the local bookstore, which by the looks of things seems to be a pretty happening place – the “joy of books” translating nicely to some twists and shakes and colour formations. The bookstore in question is the Type Bookstore in Toronto, where creator (Sean Ohlenkamp, associate creative director at Lowe Roche) and wife spent many sleepless nights choreographing this book dance-off, no doubt stacking and shelving books on repeat. However, what a result and unlike quite a few books of late, I made it to the end.
