The bark side

It’s back, a year on and one of the most memorable things of last year’s Superbowl has returned with a vengeance – the Volkswagen advert, a clever bit of advertising force designed to integrate the mastery of the Jedi, with the control and engineering of a small silver car. And this time, the dog (previously a spectator to the boy’s lightsaber antics) is the new force to be reckoned with as this online teaser by LA Deutsch confirms. A chorus of howls and barks that is surprisingly watcheable, in addition to being exemplar of good canine training – my only hope is that my own hound does not start wailing along. Nevertheless I am intrigued as to how this dog orchestra might relate to a car… but until the advert’s full release on 5th February, we will just have to wait and see.
