The Evolution of Type

Excuse the blatant steal from the site Behance, but one man down in the office (an assumed case of man flu) and one grumpy 9 hours later – fossils and typography feel quite medicinal. There is something oddly soothing about seeing these two combined, and I like how Andreas Scheiger‘s ancient reworking of the letters emphasises their key purpose as a traditional means of communication, even if there is an element of chicken bone and plasticine ‘fakery’ to the work… and subsequently a great deal more to be discussed. However, in my own sleep vs. self evolutionary battle, I will leave the images unearthed – a dig in process.
